What To Wear

Professionalism is
important

All CALA trained instructors
represent CALA, therefore you will always see them in professional attire. Always dress for comfort, safety and
functionality.
Choosing the Correct
Female Swimsuit
- Polyester
(90-100%) suit shell (not just lining) - These suits will last long but may cost a
bit more. Polyester suits contain no elastic. It is the elastic that dries out and breaks causing swimsuits to loose their shape. In this case spending
a bit more initially works out to be cheaper in the long run. You might even
get a couple of years out of your suit.
- Colour and style don't make any difference or nor does the
leg height. Pick a style that is comfortable. Make sure the polyester
suit fits correctly. Do not purchase a smaller size thinking it will
stretch. It won't. The way it fits on the day you purchase is the fit
it will always be except if you loose weight. You get what you pay for. You
can pay $30 or 40 several times a year or $80 approximately once a year or
if you are luck once every couple of years. Remember polyester suits are not
made to be fashion statements. For Aquafit support is more important than
fashion.
- Speedo
and TYR are popular brands - comes in larger sizes
Straps should cross in the back for best breast
support.
- Remember your breasts need the same support as a land
fitness class The water does not support your breasts.
- Higher cut necklines will help keep the breasts in the suit
while exercising
- Wider straps provide better support
- You may find a suit with legs (long or short) and or arms
helps keep body heat from escaping
- Bikinis provide little to no support therefore are not
suitable for Aquafit
- If you can't find a suit with good support then you should
consider wearing a sports bra under the suit.
